3D Texture and Sparkle
This was the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week. The shows revealed a fascinating mix of standard fare enhanced by bold accents. It was like Burberry teamed up with its wilder grandchild. Consequently, nail styles ranged from nude naturals to over-the-top fringed looks, literally. For example, behold these tasseled tips by Ama Quashie created for a Simone Rocha collection.
Moreover, the same artist nailed this petaled diamond look on a short black manicure. She wasn’t the only artist adding texture and sparkle to models’ nails, either.

Nail Charms & Nail Beads
Next, Ella Vivii, orchestrated studded manis for Sinead Gorey and Chopova Lowena. She took inspiration from western cowboy vibes and junk nails. Some designs had a floral vibe while others were abstract or geometric.
Although it’s not sparkly, it does have texture. We saw a lot of lace worn throughout these shows. Wise nail artists will be also contemplating how to add lace patterns to their designs and thinking about what nail styles look best with lacey outfits.
One thing is for sure: 3D designs and glittering accents will make the upcoming spring and summer much more glamorous. Even better, these techniques can work beautifully on all nail lengths.
Bright Colors
Spring and summer wouldn’t feel the same without vibrant colors on our nails and all around us. The London runways had models strutting with brightly colored fingertips. Sharp eyes spotted a rainbow of shades, from purple to pink to cheerful yellow. And it wasn’t just solid-colored nails. French tip variations were a clear favorite.

French Tips
French tips were invented as a way for actors to be able to change outfits more quickly. The traditional, natural look goes with everything. Of course, the French manicure didn’t stay standard for long. Now there are endless twists on the classic style. LFW SS25 showcased a few of the more popular options like swirly, molten tips and ombre fades.

Chrome
Fashion hasn’t ended its love affair with chrome nails, either. There are infinite ways to do chrome nail art, from full coverage to tiny accents. It’s even possible to venture far beyond silver and gold to hot pink and teal chrome. Overall, in this event, we saw more silver as it feels futuristic, and it was about forthcoming fashion, after all.
Here’s one sample: pierced chrome nails. We also noted inverted silver press-ons during the Chet Lo show.

Natural and Improved
When you want the ensemble to shine, should you go with bold nails or something simple? Several designers answered that question with a clean aesthetic look for their models. They selected nude colors with minimal embellishment. Besides black-tipped French manicures, we also noticed delicate ombre Boomer nails in pastel hues so light they look natural.

We also enjoyed marbled chocolate glass nails for Knwls from Liia Zotova, AKA the.fingersofgod.
And don’t miss the blush pink glass nails with silver hardware that Tyler Phoenix made for size-inclusive studio Karoline Vitto.
Nail Artist Highlights from LFW SS25
We mentioned a few names as we described the looks they created for London Fashion Week. It’s intriguing to see how they arrived at this moment in time:
Ama Quashie worked for ITV, Sky, and Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, but her enthusiasm for nail artistry and jewelry sent her back to school to learn more. Now she is happily blending minimalism with bold accents for understated, striking designs. Besides LFW, she’s also worked with Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Burberry.
Ella Vivii tends to combine unconventional textures such as studs, lace, and chrome for edgy, elegant designs. She got started with traditional manicures because of her mother who owns a salon. But Ella’s passion for fashion took her nail art to a new level. She’s very talented at making nail designs that enhance designer ensembles. She’s worked with Dua Lipa, Olivia Neill, and Gabriette, among many others.
Liia Zotova has the best Instagram handle we’ve seen in a while. This creative Ukrainian is celebrated for sophisticated avant-garde designs. Her marbled and glass nail designs are noteworthy, as are the ways she uses 3D details and metallics. She’s worked for Adidas4 and YSL, and recently moved to London where she continues to wow fashion designers like Ancuta Sarca.
Tyler Phoenix used to watch his sisters apply acrylic nails. His interest in nail art grew as he discovered how nails are ideal for telling a story. He draws inspiration from diverse sources including anime, graffiti, and fashion. He’s also talented at balancing merging feminine looks with edgy accents as you can witness in LFW and prior fashion shows.
Angel My Linh is also a fan of futuristic metallics and chrome. She put this in practice doing the nail styling for Chet Lo’s show, where she applied reverse stiletto press-ons in silver chrome. Nail art runs in her family and it was her mom who taught her the basics. Nowadays, when she’s not decorating Coi Leray or Megan Thee Stallion’s nails, she’s running her own brand, Angel’s Nailz.
Stephanie Staunton created the pastel pink and green ombre nails for Helen Anthony’s show. But she’s no newcomer. She’s one of the more experienced artists who participated in LFW. Over fifteen years in the nail industry, she’s had her work featured in Glamour, Pop, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and many more fashion magazines. She’s also created nails for many designers at LFW over fourteen seasons! Plus, besides celebrity clients like Scarlett Johansson, she’s also done nails for films and TV shows like Jupiter Ascending and The X Factor. Finally, it’s crucial to note that this artist understands the strain of working under stressful conditions and struggling with mental health. She created a charity called Nailing Mental Health to raise money for mental health support.
