Square Nails with the Classic Candy Corn Gradient

You’ll need white, orange, and yellow nail polish to make your nails look like candy corn. It’s also helpful to have a top coat to guard against chipping.

Begin by painting one end of your nails white. Let that layer dry. While gels may cure in a minute or less in a nail lamp, lacquer will take a few minutes to air dry.

Next, paint the other end yellow and allow it to dry.

As for the orange band in the middle, use a makeup sponge. Dip the sponge in polish or paint the sponge with polish. Then, dab it across the nail. Rock it back and forth slightly to soften the edges and blend the colors.

Once you’re satisfied and everything has dried, apply the top coat. For a sophisticated twist, use matte instead of glossy.

Hand-Painted Tiny Candy Corns

Hand-Painted Tiny Candy Corns

Here's a work of love. This type of nail art is easiest to do with gel polish because it's odorless, and it won't dry until it's cured in a nail lamp. Use a fine nail art brush or line art gel for intricate designs.

Water Marbled Candy Corn

Water Marbled Candy Corn

Have you tried water marbling nails? You’ll need orange, yellow, and white nail lacquer, a toothpick, and a bowl of warm water. Use an old bowl or a disposable container, and have plenty of paper towels at hand. You’ll also need polish remover for cleanup. (Cut down on cleanup by coating the skin around your nails and underneath your fingers with petroleum jelly).

After you’ve prepped your nails, fill the bowl with lukewarm water. Open all the polish bottles and let fall a couple of drops from each one onto the surface of the water. It’s best if the colors overlap slightly.

Gently swirl the colors together. Then, one at a time, dip your nails at an angle into the water and raise them again so that they come out coated with polish. Rest your hand on a paper towel while the lacquer dries. A fan will speed up the process. Finish with a top coat.

Candy Corn Nails for Your Pets

Candy Corn Nails for Your Pets

Now that is one patient dog! If you want to paint your pet's nails with candy corn, remember to use non-toxic pet nail polish. Your groomer may already stock it. (Human nail polish is extremely poisonous to animals, especially since they lick their feet). Keep your precious floofs safe this holiday season so you can enjoy many more fun times with them!

How to Do Candy Corn Nails Without the Right Colors of Polish

It’s frustrating to want to jump right into a new nail art design and then realize you don’t have the right colors available. But a little creativity will take you a long way.

For example, red and yellow make orange. That solves one problem if you have red and yellow polish handy.

But what about yellow? It's a primary color and not a common shade. Go check your makeup bag and your markers. Do you have something yellow? Then, paint your nails white and color them yellow with a marker. Or mix a little of that buttercup eyeshadow into a drop of polish.

We’re confident you’ll find a way. But just in case, remember we have frequent sales!

Conclusion

Candy corn nails are a fun (and, dare we say, tasteful) way to celebrate fall. We hope you enjoy your sweet new manicure!
